_{this lil guy is for my new group The-Rainfall-Effect which will be opening very soon !! i would really appreciate it if you were all to join or at least gave it a little look as getting members and starting a new group is always very difficult and we all really want to get this one up and running ! i've tried before in the past with candysprites, but since it was only the two of us we felt over-worked and didn't want to do anything, but now with a proper team of admins, we're dedicated to getting everything sailing !!

Body Type: Tall and muscular - Growing up learning to swim against the tides, Carpstar has a very muscular physique despite what his long fur might suggest otherwise and due to his Ragamuffin heritage, he's a little taller than your average tom though not by much. By estimate, one would say he weighs about 18lbs [8kg] but as stated earlier, most of that is simply muscle mass.
Scars: Carpstar has obtained his fair share of noticeable scars in his four years as well as smaller ones which are easily hidden under his fur. The larger ones go as follows :
          ● On the bridge of his nose - given to him by his first apprentice soon after he became a warrior during battle practice.
          ● Two on his left leg - received from a young rogue who didn't appreciate getting chased off of RiverClan land.
          ● Two on his back - obtained as an apprentice when the ice caved beneath his paws while he and his mentor were returning from a patrol around sunning rocks. As he fell through, the shattered ice scoured into his back, leaving two marks as a permanent reminder of that day.
Fur Description: Long and sleek - Despite its long appearance, Carpstar's fur is very oily and sleek and sweeps water off without any issues; part of this is due to his diet which consists mostly of fish, the other part is merely due to his heritage. Regardless, the RiverClan leader doesn't mind getting his fur wet and it's not bad for keeping him warm during Leafbare.
Eyes: Seafoam green - Carpstar's eyes poses a light shade of blueish-green which goes rather well with his ginger and brown pelt by contrast.
Scent: Along with the general scent of RiverClan, Carpstar also smells less like fish and more like the clear water they swim in mixed with a small hint of an almost mineraly or metallic tone due to the toms tendency to store shiny trinkets in his nest and den.

Voice: Carpstar's voice is very youthful and clear, his pitch containing a slight hint of nervousness at times (he has the generic 'hot dad' voice pfpf).

Despite the rather hostile airs surrounding the Clans at the moment, Carpstar has always been very good-natured and is quite well known and received through the territories for his easygoing and caring disposition - though some of the cats may see it as a weakness instead. Like all Clan cats, Carp doesn't enjoy finding trespassers on his territory and would fight them to the bone if need be, though often times he prefers to give them a fair warning before sending them on their way.
When it comes to his Clan and his apprentices, the ginger feline tries to be as understanding and supportive as possible and will at times accommodate himself to make the other more comfortable at something and at times, this trait can make him seem a bit easy to take advantage of, but his sternness and deputy help keep this from happening all that frequently [though of course it still does].

Being a widower and a father, Carpstar is rather protective of his Clan and especially of those he grows close to - almost to the point where he can seem a bit overbearing. Many a time when he has nothing to do, you can find the RiverClan leader sitting up on her perch keeping a watchful eye over his Clan to ensure there is nothing going on behind his back. Unfortunately, this can make the tom end up babying specific cats or even becoming a little controlling of them and their actions. He doesn't mean for this to happen, but it's just something that can end up happening as due to the death of his mate, Carpstar is very keen on keeping all who he can safe and alive.

Only ever being with one she-cat seriously his whole life, Carpstar isn't very good with the ladies and is very easily flustered by flirtatious personalities. This trait also makes him rather bashful and if given too many compliments at a time, he can begin to grow flush and dispute everything told to him - not that he's trying to be tsundere or anything, he just doesn't know how to take compliments well.
When around a particularly flirtatious she-cat, the large, strong RiverClan leader becomes very awkward and commonly will begin to try to keep his space to respect the others space [whether they want said space or not], blush profusely, and stutter and fumble with his words. In short, Carpstar is a huge dork and is not good with flirting.

[ Fatherly ] "Now you may not be my kit, but you're someone elses' and because of that I'm asking you to take the day off to rest. You've been working too hard lately, so you deserve it, okay?"

Due to his protective personality combined with his easy-going-ness and being an actual father himself, Carpstar is a very fatherly tomcat and often treats anyone younger - or even older - than himself as though they were his own kit and will make sure that each cat won't overwork themselves and can take time off for themselves as the orange feline knows how important personal relationships are to being in a Clan. This also makes him rather affectionate, though generally this is in more of a platonic way but can often be mistaken for him trying to get closer with a cat in a romantic light.

While this trait is rather unbenounced to the tom himself, he is actually quite the charming character and often may come off as even a little bit flirtatious, though these aren't his intentions at all. Growing up with his mother, mate, and having two daughters himself, Carpstar is quite the gentleman and is all for being chivalrous to she-cats and elders alike which is a thing about him which helped him claim the spot as RiverClan deputy all those moons ago.
Aside from his knightly nature, this leader is also quite attractive, even for a "fish-breathed" father like himself both personality and physically wise.

[ Worrier ] "Dusk patrol is running rather late-- What if they fell through the ice? What if a ThunderClan patrol caught them?"

Being a naturally fatherly feline, Carpstar is very quick to worry about things much to the dismay of the Medicine Cat, Wolfsmoke, who claims it is "bad for his health" and he should "probably stop" - this however, doesn't do anything for the ginger tom and he continues his fussy ways. Whenever a conflict is to arise, big or small, it is not uncommon for the mottled tom to get a little antsy and nervous about things - even if it's just a patrol running late from the border. What if they got captured? What if they fell into the river and got sweaped away? What if a giant fish leaped from the waters and swallowed them wh-- no. Now that one is simply ridiculous.

[ Punny ] "As leader of RiverClam, I cannot allow myself to be so shellfish."

Since he was raised in the best Clan in the territories, Carpstar is a very punny individual and will try to slip in any sort fish or water-related puns as possible in whatever conversations he partakes in and if you join in his dumb antics, he will probably appreciate your existence so much more than he does already. Things such as "swimagination" and "holy shrimp" are very common for this cat to say which can sometimes make him hard to take seriously as a leader, though believe me when I say he is mostly like, 82% serious most of the time. Usually.

[ Stern ] "I'm sorry, Willowflank, but I simply cannot allow that sort of behavior and as such, you are subject to caring for the elders for the next moon."

Despite his often cherry and joking disposition, Carpstar is RiverClan leader for a reason; one of those reasons being how strongly he tends to follow the rules so long as there is a justified reason for them being in place. Now he is not one to avoid reasonings for breaking certain rules, it would have to take quite a good excuse for doing so. Saying "I got lost" or "I was chasing a squirrel" is not too good of a reason for breaking the Clan boundaries, though they will potentially help lighten your punishment.

[ Genuine ] "No. When I say something, I mean it. Honestly."

Being raised the way he was, Carpstar is a very earnest tom and rarely tells a lie. When he says something, he honestly means it from the bottom of his heart. Sometimes when the time calls for it [or even when it doesn't], the ginger tom will go off on long, heartfelt speeches in order to get his points across - these kinds of things generally only emerge when a serious topic is brought up such as self harm or the breaking of a close bond to those around him. This is another reason he had become the leader, and it's because Carp will gladly listen and attempt to help most any cat who may come to him with an issue, making him rather approachable and trusting.

[ Humble ] "Oh, well I don't know about that. I just did what any other cat would have done.."

Despite being leader of the best Clan in existence, the ginger tom doesn't let this go to his head. In his eyes, he is at equal with the rest of the cats within RiverClan and sometimes has a hard time accepting compliments if he doesn't feel they were deserved. This isn't to be mistaken for him trying to be a compliment whore, no, he just doesn't feel such words aren't needed as he is mostly just your average tom doing what any other Clan cat would do. To him, having an inflated ego would mean nothing but trouble and he's honestly quite content with where he's at in terms of that spectrum as well as most others - not meaning he couldn't do any better, but he's not displeased with his skills.

[ Youthful ] "Why do any of that when we can race around instead? C'mon, Pebblebrooke, we have time!"

While to the more junior warriors, Carpstar could be seen as a big old fuddy-duddy, though at heart he's as young as some of the apprentices. While the four plus year old leader is growing to the middle of his lifespan, nothing can stop him from running or swimming about and remaining active and playful. From experience, the tom watched the leader before him grow slower and less-active as the moons dragged on after his coming of power and Carpstar could see how easy it could be to become secluded within the Camp going about more leader-like duties rather than working with the clan as a true leader should. Because of this, he will often partake in at least one patrol and hunting patrol a day and if caught in the right mood in the right place, races or games of tag may be initiated despite how 'immature' it may appear - he's leader, after all, he can do what he wants.

As stated above, never has nor will this tom let the power of leading a Clan get to his head and while he understands there's a time and place for mucking around, that also means there's a place and time for drinking some wine playing around and enjoying himself with his peers. This trait also makes him a very welcoming sort of guy, and just seems to be the type of tom you could sit next to and tell a tale or two with before going your own ways and doing whatever. //this is super hard to explain gomen

Because of the failures of his past and just his general disposition, Carpstar is very hesitant when making important decisions such as allowing outside felines into the Clan or going into battle - much as any leader should ! though.. just to a more extreme degree. Unfortunately, this trait may also affect his usual day-to-day decisions as well as his personal life which could and have led to many misunderstandings in the future and the past. His apprehensions as a leader in the past when he first assumed position have occasionally led the more senior warriors to assume he may not be cut out for the part, though after the help of his more definitive deputy and medicine cat, the elders seem to be more at ease with the previous leaders decision.

Through the death of his mate and the nearing mortality on his parents, Carpstar has come to realize just how clingy of a feline he really is, despite how weak it may sound. When a cat becomes close to him in a personal or romantic way, he has a very hard time with saying goodbye if even for a short time and may sometimes come up with excuses to come along with them on their ventures. This can sometimes be rather off-putting to others or make him appear as though he were a kit, though there's not much he could do about it - it's just how he is.

● Shiny objects - ever since he was a kit, Carpstar has had a fascination with objects which glimmer in the light and since he became leader two cycles ago, he has lined his den with miscellaneous items such as bells, shiny pebbles, rings, and necklaces found in the river.
● Watching the water flow through the streams - when he was a kit, Carpstar and his mother spent a lot of time staring at the water during sunset and that habit stuck with him and passed through to his past mate. Since her passing, the ginger leader has yet to miss a day of gazing at the water as the sun begins to disappear across the horizon.
● Early morning - never being much of a night owl, Carpstar loves early mornings; the smell, the look, even the crisp and fresh feeling of the air makes the tom feel nice and energized.
● When dew clings to the grass while he walks - another reason Carpstar loves early morning is because of the cool morning water which clings to the blades of grass that brushes off on his pelt while he passes through.
● Swimming in the water during sun-high when the suns warming the surface - while swimming is one hobby all RiverClanners love [or at least most], Carpstar especially loves it when the sun is at its peak when it's able to cast its warmth down onto the waters to heat them slightly.
● Feeling as though he's important - while Carpstar does what he does for the purpose of helping his Clan, it's always nice for him to be told that he's important to others or that he's doing a good job because there are times where he may get a little doubtful.
● Spending time with his family - even before the sudden death of his first mate, Carpstar had always been a big family man and enjoys spending as much time with his loved ones as possible; even when they begin to find it annoying.
● The feeling of pebbles beneath his pads - there's just something about that nice, cool feeling of tiny stones under your paws that makes Carpstar unbelievably happy. He doesn't know what it is, but even when he can't go swimming, the ginger tom still loves just walking on the cold stones of the shore and feeling them under his pads.
● Fireflies - when Goldfish was still alive, Carpstar and often went down to the river to watch the fireflies glimmer above the water much like the stars which coat the sky.

● The taste and even look of snakes - while he doesn't fear them, Carpstar has to admit that snakes are rather vile creatures and he would much rather be away from them when he can. Luckily for him, there aren't too many of those scaley fiends to be found on RiverClan territory to begin with.
● Traveling herbs - since he became leader and even before then, Carpstar has hated the taste of traveling herbs and while he knows he has to take them if he wants to go to Moonstone and back with no complications, it doesn't mean he won't complain about it a bit.
● Leafbare - although no cats really like Leafbare, Carpstar can honestly say that he hates it. Not only did the harsh weather cost him his mate, but it also gave him the scars on his back and his fear of walking on frozen ice.
● Puddlestar - he's not sure what happened between the two, but it seems that ever since the ThunderClan leader took his position, he's had it out for the ginger leader which has caused a bit of a rift between the two Clans for a few moons now.
● Mosquitos - they are probably the devil tbh.
● Copperstar - while they haven't spoken much, Carpstar has seen enough to know he is one crazy mo-fo.

| Roleplay Example |

Leaving camp, the dark tom wondered if he were doing the right thing. Sure, Earthfang was going to worry when she awakes to find him not there beside her, but he knew he wouldn't feel better until he at least spoke with the cat who had terrified and attacked his family. Although he wouldn't admit it to anyone who asked, Coalgaze had never been in any large fights before and couldn't say he had any major enemies.. well, until now. Despite the fact he had never truly met the Tiger before, he has heard the stories and saw what kind of things he can do for absolutely no reason at all. Attacking a she-cat is one thing, but also threatening her young kit? That was taking things way too far, even for a cat with his kind of reputation. The tom continue padding through the tall grass, only accompanied by the soft, satisfying crunch the grass made as he pressed on. He tried to think back to the gatherings to recall if he had ever seen the battle-scarred cat and was able to remember the large tom quite well. Against the fact there were so many cats at the gatherings, Tigersun was always very easy to spot; his large, golden tabby figure sticking out like a sore thumb. Keeping his pace slow, Coalgaze though up multiple strategies he could use if things came to it. The tiger-like tom was surely twice his size or larger, so his hits would sting and possibly knock him off his paws, so the dark tom knew the only advantage he would have is his impeccable speed. He wasn't a very hard-hitter himself, but he figured he would be able to stand his ground so long as he avoided as many hits as possible. As he planned out tactics, his mind started to roam and shuddered at the thought of having as many enemies as the golden tom must have. He's obviously able to fend them off, but the black feline didn't want to think about what it would be like to worry about being attacked at any given moment.
A smooth, rushing sound echoed from the grasslands ahead of him as his mind was brought back into reality. Before the tom knew it, he was minutes away from the RiverClan border. He wasn't sure if he would even find the cat hes looking for, but it was worth a shot just to get rid of the feeling in his stomach when he thought of what happened. Earthfang was one of the only cats to ever really enjoy his company and the raven warrior was planning on doing anything to keep her safe and to keep from something like that from happening to his little family again. He knew Crowkit wasn't his actual son, but he was close enough to it and that was all that really mattered. Coalgaze's bright, golden gaze glanced around at the land ahead of him in search of a golden tabby pelt. Another thought occurred to him while he was searching that made his heart feel cold. What if he died? Earthfang had already lost her first mate and the tom didn't want to have to put her though that again. And what about Crowkit? He would have to grow up without a father and since the clan knows he's not WindClan in the slightest, the surely wouldn't treat him or his mother very kindly if the dark warrior were to die. Shaking the dreadful through away, Coalgaze stopped in his place and stared off at the rippling river before him, taking shelter in a patch of tall grass as he waited for any kinds of life to emerge from the other side.
